Certificate course on Pre-Primary Teachers Training


   The course is designed through a theory and practical training in Pre-Primary child education based on Montessori method of early childhood learning. The training provides an excellent foundation for all those who are involved or likely to be involved in Pre-Primary education, including teachers and parents.

   The course is conducted on a collaborative basis by Netaji Subhas Open  University and Learning and Living resources society at selected centres as advertised by the university in the Newspapers from time to time.

  

Academic session:

  January to June and July to December every year. The course is of 6 months durations. 

 

Admission:

   Admission schedule will be notified in the newspaper before the commencement of each session. Information brochure together with enrolment form will be available from the office of all study centres of the university on Saturday and Sunday during office ours of the study centre on payment of Rs. 25/-.

  Completed enrolment form along with prescribed fees as detailed below is to be submitted to the study centre with in the last day announce. Application may be received beyond stipulated last date on payment of a late fee Rs. 50/-. The fees are to be submitted by demand draft payable to Netaji Subhas Open University (study centre) quoting its bank account number. Applicant should write his / her full name, application serial number on the reverse of the DD.

   Each course has a maximum of fifty (50) seats that shall be filled up strictly on first come first serve basis. Seats shall be reserved as per Govt. rules.

 

Fees Structure:

   Course Fee                                 :  Rs.  2000/-  (payable in one or two installments)

   Registration Fee                       :  Rs.    100/-

   Identity Card Fee                      :  Rs.    100/-

   Development Fee                     :  Rs.    100/-

 

   Total                                              :  Rs.  2300/- (payable at the time of admission)

 

   Examination Fee                       :  Rs.    50/- per paper (payable before examination)

 

Eligibility:

  Madhyamik or equivalent examination passed and age of 18 years or above.

  

Course content:

   Course covers general and Montessori educational theory and child physiology, exercise of practical life, sensorial activity, language, arithmetic, story and rimes, arts and craft.

 

Language of Instruction:

 The study materials are written in Bengali and lessons are also imparted in Bengali. A student is however free to write answer in English.

 

Study Materials:

  A study text written in Bengali will be distributed to the students free of cost through the study centres. Materials required for art and craft and making teaching aids will have to be provided by the students them selves.

 

Method of Instruction:

  Instruction is imparted through lectures and practical training based on Montessori method, usually five hours per week spread over two days. Students will also be required to go for observation to different Montessori houses. As this is a course based on acquiring practical skills, attendance is compulsory.

 

Examination:

   Evaluation will be on the basis of internal assessment as well as theoretical and practical examinations held on completion of the course.

 

Some Instructions:

1.      Application of change (address, subject, study centre, examination centre) should be made together with a fee of Rs. 50/-. Students shall be allowed to change their subjects with in 2 months of the last date of admission.

2.      The candidates who are admitted shall receive an Identity Card duly signed by the designated officer of the university. Identity Card should be produce by the students at the time of PCP, Laboratory work and examinations for verification on demand.
