  The course is designed to develop communication skill in English

Study Centre

This course is operated through University's own Study Centre "Centre for Language Studies" at 134/1, Meghnad Saha Sarani, Kolkata--700029 (Golpark Campus of the University), Ph. No. 5512-3623

Academic session:

  January to June and July to December every year. The course is of 6 months durations. 

 

Admission:

   Admission schedule will be notified in the newspaper before the commencement of each session. Information brochure together with enrolment form will be available from the office of all study centres of the university on Saturday and Sunday during office ours of the study centre on payment of Rs. 50/-.

  Completed enrolment form along with prescribed fees as detailed below is to be submitted to the study centre within the last date announced. Application may be received beyond stipulated last date on payment of a late fee of Rs. 50/-. The fees are to be submitted by demand draft payable to Netaji Subhas Open University (study centre) quoting its bank account number. Applicant should write his / her full name, application serial number on the reverse of the DD.

 

Fees Structure:

   Course Fee                          :  Rs.  2000/-  (payable in one installments)

   Registration Fee                      :  Rs.    100/-

   Identity Card Fee                     :  Rs.    100/-

   Development Fee                     :  Rs.    100/-

 

   Total                     :  Rs.  2300/- (payable at the time of admission)

 

   Examination Fee                     :  Rs.    50/- per paper (payable before examination)

Eligibility:

 10+2 or equivalent examination passed, graduate and professionals are eligible for admission to the course. No age bar. Those who have passed BPP and pursuing BDP are also eligible to apply.

 

Course content:

   The Course includes:

1.      Listening, Reading, Writing, Pronunciation, Conversational English for social & business purposes, office communication & examination

2.      Grammar & Vocabulary, Examination Practice

3.     Interview skills, Call Centre Training & Project Writing

Study Materials:

  The Course is conducted by ELT (English Language Teaching) experts through audio/visual aids with Xeroxed materials given during the classes.

 

Method of Instruction:

  Instruction will be imparted through latest Multi Media and computer assisted teaching technique, group discussions and individual practice, by experts in English Language Teaching. 

 

Some Instructions:

1.      Application of change (address, examination centre) should be made together with a fee of Rs. 50/-.

2.      The candidates who are admitted shall receive an Identity Card duly signed by the designated officer of the university. Identity Card should be produce by the students at the time of PCP, Laboratory work and examinations for verification on demand.
