MoUs signed by NSOU with other World-Class Institutions during the period 2001 – 2005

    1. Chennai Mathematical Institute, Chennai - the premier Institute of Mathematical Research in India,
    2. M.S Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai,
    3. Rehabilitation Council of India for B. Ed (Special Education) course to serve the disability sector.
    4. Forthcoming: MoU with Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) towards the Village Resourse Centres(VRC).

NASSCOM acts as a facilitator between NSOU and other IT related organizations in relevant areas of student need.

Besides, various courses are conducted in formal collaboration / partnership with several Departments of the Government of West Bengal .

Seminars, Symposia, workshops and Conferences: There has been a spate of activities- Seminars, Symposia, Workshops, Conferences and Memorial Lectures round the year. To name a few:

* Shri Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya, Mayor, Kolkata Municipal Corporation delivered the Foundation Day Lecture 2005 on Kolkata-Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

* Dr G. Madhavan Nair, Chairman, ISRO and Chairman, Space Commission and Secretary, Department of Space, Govt. of India delivered Second Foundation Day Lecture , delivered the lecture on “Space Technology for Education”.

* Professor A.P.Mitra, FRS delivered the First Foundation Day Lecture.

* Prof. R. A. Mashelkar , FRS, Director General, and CSIR delivered the First Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Memorial Lecture.

* Prof. C. S. Seshadri , FRS, Director, Chennai Mathematical Institute delivered the First Ramanujan Memorial Lecture and a two-day workshop was held in collaboration with CMI.

* Prof. M. Swaminathan, Eminent Agricultural Scientist & Hon'ble Chairman, M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai delivered the Keynote Address at a Seminar on ‘ Empowerment of Rural Community through Village Knowledge Centres: Role of Collaborative Alliances between MSSRF & NSOU'

* Professor Goverdhan Mehta , Director, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore delivered the Second Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Memorial Lecture .

* Sir John Daniel , President and CEO, Commonwealth of Learning delivered the Endowment Lecture on Extraordinary Education for Ordinary People.

* Professor H.P. Dikshit, Vice-Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University & Chairman, Distance Educational Council delivered the Second Endowment Lecture on Open and Distance Learning.

* Mr. Kiran Karnik , NASSCOM, chaired national Seminar on IT Workforce Development and two sessions of the Seminar.

* National Council of Teacher Education Workshop was held in collaboration with NSOU. Dr Shardindu , Chairman, NCTE

* Netaji Subhas Open University hosted the East Zone Vice-Chancellor's Conference in June 2004 under the auspices of Association of Indian Universities . Prof. Satyasadhan Chakraborty , Hon'ble Minister-in-Charge Department of Higher Education , Government of West Bengal inaugurated the Conference and delivered the inaugural address . The Vice-Chancellors / Directors of the East Zone Indian Universities including former Vice-Chancellors , Heads of Apex Bodies kept their valuable views in the conference .
